Today I got my first EReader Sony Prs T2.
But since I turn on it, the menu is all in Japanese. T_T
How can I use it? May I change it to en or us version?
The FW is 1.0.04.03190.
I just want to change the menu language to English.
Somebody can help me?
If it can be root, it will be more thankful.

We need to find whether the default language setting in the Reader is Japanese. To do this, first reset the unit. For resetting the unit, charge the Reader completely and then press the RESET button at the base of the unit with a small pin. After reset, if the unit comes up with Japanese language, then the unit was manufactured in Japan. You need to access the language setting option in the unit to determine whether it has the English language option in it.
If the unit was manufactured outside U.S., then we're not sure about the menu options in the unit. However, based on our knowledge of the PRST2 released in the U.S., to access language settings menu, press the (Home) button > Settings (briefcase type icon) >General settings (first option)>Menu language (second option).

Tks a lot for your reply.
But it doesn't work.
I reset it, when it comes up, there is just a date and time setting.
After I setting the date and time,it comes to the home screen.
There is no option to setting language.
Also I looked for the option in setting menu, but I can't find it.

You can try calling Sony, they might be able to guide you through menus.

I already sent a email to them, I am waiting for the reply.

Can I flash it by US or EN FW?
Have anybody done it before?
If T2 died in the flash, can I restore it by backup?

I have some bad news for you. I have Japanese version of PRS-T2 and I also live in Japan. You can't change the language in most Sony's products bought in Japan (incl. Sony Readers, point & shoot cameras etc.) Most Sony's products bought in Japan are only in Japanese. Salesman should have warned you.

Your can change firmware version of reader by reflashing full dump of nandSD . ( Japanese >> Russian or EU )

Software only on unlocked recovery, or hardware on locked recovery.
